One Truth. One Hate.
Presuming correctly that they were walking into a trap, the group took a number of precautions before approaching the small wood cabin that was Dead Dog Farm. Calm in the Storm summoned a thick cloud to follow them and mask their movements as they decided to enter the cabin via a chained cellar door. Rides the Aether managed to pick the lock and cracked it open revealing the pumping sounds of Skrillex and strobe lighting filling the room below. It was Joanne who decided to enter first, climbing down the steps into the room, despite knowing that the Hunters were probably waiting for them.
The steps under her feet were sabotaged and she fell a short way into the cellar onto some jutting nails. A big black guy, shaved head, dressed in leathers, lowered a shotgun towards her, whilst another woman dressed like swat carried an M16. Joanne managed to fire off a couple of rounds as she scrambled along the floor searching for cover. The woman fired a three round burst back and took cover behind the cabin’s heating furnace.
Calm in the Storm swung into the room, rolling and charging the big guy. His sword cut deeply, which his opponent only seemed to enjoy. He dropped his shotgun and began working Calm in the Storm’s body with a set of silver dragon knuckles; the power in his punches growing with every wound that he received. When Long Tongue dropped into the room, she quickly fired, putting a bullet into the berserkers head and ending him.
Meanwhile, Joanne and swat girl had been exchanging gun fire, filling the room with the sound of explosions and the smell of gunpowder. With Calm in the Storm’s enemy dead, he charged the swat woman and gutted her with one mighty swing of his huge sword.
It was at that moment that a section of the roof collapsed in as a shirtless European man, carrying a shield and a silver gladius dropped down next to Calm in the Storm. Not being able to get a clear shot, Long Tongue climbed a ladder that took her into one of the cabin’s bedrooms. Joanne began to try and get Jessica free of a dog cage that the hunters had locked her in, whilst outside, Rides the Aether heard the sound running feet over the noise of all the carnage occurring in the basement below. He rounded the corner of the cabin and saw a geeky looking guy running off into the forest. Chasing him, he shot at the guy with a shotgun, winging him and dropping him to the ground. Moving up to the fat geek, Rides the Aether stepped on a silvered caltrop, putting him in a surly mood. When the fat geek tried to surrender, Rides the Aether blew his head off and took his laptop.
Back in the cellar, the last member of the Hunter’s cell tried to defend against the attacks of Calm in the Storm, but failed. His head was removed, along with a part of the furnace that the Hunter was hiding behind. The girl was rescued and the Hunter’s were dead. They gathered up various guns and other booty (including an Aegis Doru talisman) and buried the bodies deep in the woods.
The night not quite over, the group decided to immediately deal with the unknown werewolf that was attacking Joanne’s high school friends. Following a perfectly legit (or fake) pamphlet from the 70’s, they found the location of Fire cave. Calm in the storm recognised markings made by Speaks with Fire, that had once warded the location against spiritual and human trespass. Making their way up the mountain they found evidence of a recent camping trip. Getting out the spelunking gear, descended into the depths of the cave.
The main chamber had a large pictogram on the back wall with six bowls at the base, two of them contained human hearts. Various herbs and other ritual tools hung from the roof, whilst a circle of blackened stones were set in the center of the floor. The roof acted as a natural chimney though know fire was lit, except for the candles scattered around the chamber and used for light.
Appearing out of nowhere, a huge scarred and branded Pure in Garou form attacked Joanne, trying to bite her head off. She turned and fired, however in her surprise she missed. Rides the Aether grew claws and slashed at the beast whilst Calm in the Storm raised his sword against it. Long Tongue took on Garou form and also charged the Pure however, almost instantaneously, she felt her rage subside as the Pure siphoned it off. The group levelled attack after attack at the Pure until Calm in the Storm skewered it on the end of his blade. It immediately transformed back to human form before whispering in the spirit tongue “You have doomed yourselves.”
Searching through the room, the group discovered that the Pure was attempting to conduct a ritual that would return a recently escaped Idigam, back into imprisonment.
The four Uratha left the cave with all the information they could deduce. They decided they would become a pack and try and defeat the Idigam and also repair the wound that festered behind Snoqualmie Falls.
